DESCRIPTION:Poke is pronounced poh-KAY (rhymes with okay) and is a Hawaiian comfort food.  Poke means “to slice or cut” in Hawaiian. It is similar to sashimi or ceviche and is frequently topped with soy sauce\, sesame oil\, and scallions. There are many poke variations\, such as cubed avocado\, tofu\, or octopus.  The U.S. take on the poke bowl is like a DIY bowl – seasoned rice topped with cubes of raw fish\, and a variety of customizable toppings and sauces\, including taro chips\, sliced mango and avocado\, sesame seeds\, and furikake seasoning.

These anthocyansare responsible for the purple pigments in plants.Studies suggest that people who eat more naturally purple foods are less overweight\, have lower blood pressure\, and have higher HDL (good) cholesterol. Purple foods are also important in healthy brain function.While deep purple hues and ultraviolet accents are striking ways to add appeal and nutrients to a dish\, all colorful fruits and vegetables are rich sources of antioxidants (a set of plant chemicals that help our bodies fight certain types of diseases).
